 Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) is a statutory body of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. It functions as the nodal body for adoption of Indian children and is mandated to monitor and regulate in-country and inter-country adoptions.

 SARA (State Adoption Resource Agency) is a nodal body at the state level under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, facilitating adoption processes and promoting the welfare of orphaned and abandoned children.

4-SAA (Specialized Adoption Agency)

The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) is the district-level implementing body under the Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS) / Mission Vatsalya, functioning as per the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.

DCPU (District Child Protection Unit) is one at each district level in state and with SAA (Specialized Adoption Agency) where orphane children lives, does home study report. Report is submitted to District Magistrate for approval for further process. Here is the link to find you SAA details.

The District Magistrate / Additional District Magistrate (ADM) is the competent authority to issue the Adoption Order.
