Nodal agencies for adoption

 Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) is a statutory body of Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India. It functions as the nodal body for adoption of Indian children and is mandated to monitor and regulate in-country and inter-country adoptions.

 SARA (State Adoption Resource Agency) is a nodal body at the state level under the Ministry of Women and Child Development, facilitating adoption processes and promoting the welfare of orphaned and abandoned children.

DCPU (District Child Protection Unit) is one at each district level in state and with SAA (Specialized Adoption Agency) where orphane children lives, does home study report. Report is submitted to District Magistrate for approval for further process. Here is the link to find you SAA details.

After District Magistrate approval for adoption, New Birth Certificate has to be made from block level with new adoptive parent details. 

 Passport Seva Kendra assists in issuing passports for internationally adopted children, enabling adoptive parents to take them abroad legally.
